Cruise-In for a Cause is a passive leisure, open Cruise on Yukon’s iconic Route 66. In addition to the thrill of enjoying America’s Main Street in a fun and unique way, car enthusiasts will have the opportunity to support local charitable causes.
The event is free and open to anyone to cruise “at will throughout the evening. A limited number of reserved “Park & Show” spaces in Main Street’s 400 block, under the lights, will be available by registration: [[email protected] or click “ticket” link in this event page].
The 2020 participating “help causes” are Compassionate Hands, Inc., Pets & People Humane Society, Inc., Yukon Manna Pantry, Yukon Sharing Ministry.
Each organization will have on-site advocacy booths with program and services information and will be a collection site for various food and product drives.
With changing to an “open Cruise” this year, donations are not collected through an admission charge from each cruiser. In keeping with the theme of the event “Cruise-In for a Cause”, donations are encouraged at donation stations throughout event, Cause booths, or previous to the event through the Main Street office. Any donations not designated for a specific participating Cause, will be equally split between all four Causes.
When they’re not riding, event attendees will enjoy strolling through the “Park & Show” area, visiting Cause and sponsor booths, checking out fun things to see and do at various stops along the way and enjoying the constant parade of cool rides.
The idea for this event was to celebrate Yukon’s portion of the Mother Road by creating a vision of yesteryear by lining Route 66/Main Street with vintage, classics, and muscles, etc. as well as late models.
